Verrucas

Verrucas or ‘plantar warts’ are caused by an infection to the outer layer of the skin. This is due to certain strains of the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). This is spread by making contact with infected skin cells most commonly in public changing rooms and swimming pools. Although verrucas are not dangerous there is a risk of spreading, multiplying or becoming painful. Once the verruca becomes painful or begins to spread, treatment is recommended. Although there is no verruca treatment 100% guaranteed to resolve the issue, we offer several effective treatments in clinic.
